Support a group working on the challenges, volunteer, help with health education - tell your children about Schistosomiasis and tell all that you know that there is a simple way to prevent infection, and to stop the spread of the disease.... We call it the 'Shistosomiasis 1-2-3'
- Do not bathe or play in the waters edge (the major source of infection)
- Do not drink unfiltered water (another source of infection)
- Do not defecate or urinate other than in a designated latrine (the source of re-infection)
There is much more to fighting Shistosomiasis - but as you join us in fighting the disease through education and action, you will learn and help to ensure that our grandchildren only hear about this disease in the history books!
